Nitrous Oxide "Laughing Gas" and Oral Sedation Available

Nitrous Oxide, also known as laughing gas, is one of the most common forms of sedation used in dentistry today. Laughing gas is administered by having a patient inhale through a mask, which is closely monitored by your general dentist. You will soon fall into a state of euphoria and feel completely relaxed, with all feelings of fear or anxiety fading away. This will allow for you to relax peacefully and comfortably while your procedure is being performed. Most dental work can be completed in one visit with sedation.

Nitrous oxide sedation is very effective and very safe. Once the procedure is completed, the gas will wear off rather quickly, and you should be able to drive yourself home and return to your regularly scheduled daily activities.

Before your procedure, you will need a preliminary visit with your dentist to make sure you are a candidate for sedation.
